OVERVIEW

New Milford is a beautiful New England town and that's why we all live here.  I will always work to protect it, as I do now as a Town Council member. But, there is more we can do, that I can do, when I have a seat in Hartford. I will help bring more state and federal funding to our town, to our schools. I will work to protect our water, and our safety on Rt 7, and I will work to promote CT and New Milford, as the gateway to New England.

I believe that continuing to build an economy that benefits everyone needs to be one of Connecticut’s top priorities. Toward this end, I will continue our work to eliminate wage gaps, ensure equal pay for equal work, and support workers and their right to organize in the workplace. Labor organizations are vital to growing our middle class, and central to maintaining fairness, ensuring wage equity, and fighting against workplace discrimination.
I have always been a strong education advocate. Recently, we’ve experienced a few difficult years in our schools. I believe that for students to get back on track, schools must provide low or no-cost meals, reliable internet and a safe place to study and spend time with friends. I also recommend expanded access to tutoring, wraparound services for families and “positive approaches” to chronic absenteeism rather than “criminalizing consequences.”
I am committed to supporting and advancing women’s rights. I also believe that abortion is health care and I unequivocally support a woman’s right to choose safe and legal abortion.
I believe in the equality of all people, regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender and personal identity, citizenship, or any other differentiating factor.
I believe in every person’s inalienable right to be who they are, marry who they want, and raise their families according to their values.
I believe in ensuring free and fair elections and protecting the sanctity of voting.
I also believe that:
● A more equitable tax system needs to be established, so that everyone pays their fair share.
● Health care is a right, and I believe in universal, affordable health care for all.
● We need to continue to work toward greater equity in education, so that every Connecticut child receives an equally high-quality education.
● Climate change is an existential threat, and that we must urgently, proactively, and aggressively work together to protect our environment, our future.
● We must work to both keep our communities safe and build a better criminal justice system that is trusted by all citizens.
● Every Connecticut citizen deserves access to affordable housing.
● For a healthy democracy to thrive, all voices must be heard.
Connecticut Democrats have led the state through a historic pandemic, keeping our families safe and helping our economy survive through unprecedented times. We have been able to do this by being committed to upholding our values, to preserving our democracy, and to governing with compassion, empathy, and a commitment to equality for all.
