Alexandra Thomas was born and raised in New Milford, Connecticut. She received her business degree from Charter Oak State College and obtained her certification as a youth camp director.
From 1989-2020, she directed summer camps throughout the area that handled up to 200 employees and oversaw every aspect of the business, child interaction with counselors, activities, and seeing to the needs of children with various abilities. From 2000-2010 she owned and operated her own business of a co-ed summer camp. She also worked or donated her time to various organizations ranging from The Girl Scouts, The CT Camping Association, of which she is currently president, and taught Adventure Education at NWCC from 2001-2004.
Her work with children inspired her to run for the New Milford Board of Education where she held a seat from 1991-2003 and 2007-2011. She currently is on the New Milford Town Council and is running for State Representative of the 67th District of Connecticut.
Mrs. Thomas is married to Terry Thomas and shares one son, two stepsons, and seven grandchildren while she lives in the home bought by her parents in 1957.
